1954

Jirka Rysavy is born.

1984

Rysavy leaves Czechoslovakia.

1986

Rysavy acquires an office-supply store in Boulder, Colorado.

1988

Gaiam is founded.

1990

Rysavy's office business is renamed Corporate Express.

1995

Gaiam acquires catalog-sales business Seventh Generation, starts expanding.

1999

Rysavy sells and resigns from Corporate Express. Gaiam goes public.

2000

Gaiam launches Gaiam.com, partners with Whole Foods.

2007

Gaiam acquires Spiritual Cinema Circle, its first video-subscription business.

2009

Gaiam begins to build a video platform internally.

2011

Gaiam launches Gaiam TV.

2013

Gaiam acquires yoga streaming service My Yoga Online.

2015

Gaiam TV is rebranded as Gaia.

2016

The Gaiam brand is sold to Sequential Brands Group.

2018

Gaia hits 500,000 paying subscribers.

2019

Gaia begins live-events initiative.

2020

Gaia turns a profit in Q3.
